Easter Craft Round Up

Hey there Moms, Dads, Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts and Uncles!

I just thought I would take a second to share some links for Easter Crafts that I’ve come across…  I’ll leave the egg dying and bunny photos to you but if you’re looking for some crafty ways to keep kids busy – here you go!

I personally am a GIANT fan of the sun catcher, though I haven’t had a chance to grab the supplies 😦

February Holidays and Related Crafts

I would like to share with you one of my secrets for monthly craft activities… KinderArt.com

kinderartlogoI look up each month and base our craft activities on what’s going on that month.  It’s a way to start  the munchkin learning about the world, history, holidays and crafts – all in one fell swoop.

Their blurb states: “KinderArt.com is an award-winning art education website for parents, teachers and children of all ages. KinderArt® features free art lesson plans that teachers and parents can use in their home or school classroom. Our content is not only useful and interactive, it’s simple to access.”

A couple of February Crafts I’ll be focusing on are:

  • Feb 2: Groundhog day
  • Feb 5: Weather Forecasters Day (seems more relevant due to recent events!)
  • Feb 9: Toothache Day
  • Feb 11: Inventer’s Day
  • Feb 14: Valentine’s Day ❤
  • Feb 21: President’s Day
  • Feb 27: Polar Bear Day

It’s also Black History Month and Dental Hygiene Month.

Ruler Growth Chart

ruler growth chartI have determined that with our daughter’s 3rd birthday coming up we need some way to record her SERIOUS growth spurts.  In the past couple of years she’s gone from a cute little blob to a screaming, running, jumping and dancing 3ft + mini-human.

I ran across this on the internets and convinced my hubs to help me make one for our family so we can have a nice way of tracking our munchkin’s growth… and I thought I’d share with you!

I’m hoping to get to it  once the weather warms up – and I’ll be back dating heights based on doctors appointments in the past.

Personalized Kitchen Aid Mixers

Ok – soooo I MAY have a bit of love for my KitchenAid.  It was the one thing I HAD to have after we got married because it’s the thing I make all my cakes, cookies, and goodies with… So, when I ran across this page on a friends Facebook feed I HAD to take a look!

Un Amore Custom Designs has some truly magnificent looking mixers and I am seriously considering sending them our mixer JUST so I can have a piece of customized art in my kitchen (plus… come on… it looks GREAT!)

Personalized Christmas Stockings

I attempted making personalized stockings the Martha Stewart way (adding my own crazy flair and inspiration) and spent plenty of money on fabrics and photocopies of templates several years ago… you know what?  I STILL haven’t gotten around to it BUT there is another way!

Try using burlap, red yarn, ribbons and bells; or felt and assorted decorations!  Use some simple materials and a little time and you’ll find yourself with personalized stockings for the family/friends that are inexpensive and treasured by all.

Here is a site with different stocking ideas and tutorials…
