Study Finds Kids with Low Self-Esteem are Often Praised for Personal Qualities Instead of Efforts

Related back to article I posted earlier, I just read a new study stating that adults tend to dote “personal quality” praise on a kid if they are behind the ball vs. praising the efforts of a kid who’s “already there”.

I know I slip up often (it’s hard when you think you’re kid is being SO FREAKING ADORABLE!) BUT it is important to praise the effort, not the child essentially.
