PIZZA!

Happy Friday everyone!  And what better thing to eat on a Friday evening than pizza?  Right?!?

But say you’re watching those pennies and ordering out is a bit expensive atm.  Or, you’re like me and are a bit of a pizza snob – plastic cheese with a side of grease are not my thing…

I have the solution!

Homemade pizza crust and (in my next post) homemade pizza sauce

  • 1 c lukewarm water
  • 1 pkg active dry yeast
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/3 Tbsp salt
  • 1/4 c cooking oil or applesauce
  • all purpose flour

Pour package of yeast on the cup of water.  Add sugar and let ferment for 1/2 hour.  Add cooking oil/applesauce and salt.  Stir with spoon.  Add flour a little at a time until thick enough for kneading. Knead dough until firm, let rise 2-3 hours. [I put dough in greased bowl covered with saran wrap snuggly fit with rubberbands].

After dough rises, separate into 3 balls and roll out to fit pan.  Top with sauce, parsley, cheese and any toppings.  Cook in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 18 min.  Eat!
